TORRIJAS

Since I finished my exams I wanted to make a new recipe, but I didn’t have much time, so after a few days with my grandparents eating “torrijas” I think it was necessary to upload my grandma’s recipe.

“Torrijas” is a kind of dessert similar to French toasts and is very typical from Spain in Easter. We also eat them for breakfast or any other time.
They are really good and easy so I hope you give them a try!

Ingredients:
1 loaf of bread from the day before
1 liter of milk
100 g of sugar
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
3-4 eggs
Olive oil to fry
Sugar and ground cinnamon / syrup / milk

Put the milk, the sugar and the cinnamon in a pot with heat, before boiling remove from the heat.

Cut the bread in slices of 2 cm and dip them in the milk.

Now dip the slices in beaten egg and fry them.

Finally dip them in sugar and cinnamon, syrup, more milk or whatever you like.
