SCONES

I’ve been wanting scones for the last few days and I’ve just remember that I hadn’t post this wonderful recipe.

I modified the recipe from one from Jamie Oliver, they are so easy and they’re incredible.
You may want to serve them with a good quality jam or clotted cream.

If you don’t want to bake them all mat the same time you can freeze them and bake them at another time and they’re perfect.

Ingredients (20 scones aprox.):
150 g cold unsalted butter (5.3 oz.)
500 g flour (17.6 oz.)
7,5 teaspoons baking powder
3 tablespoons of sugar
A pinch of sea
3 small beaten eggs
4 tablespoons milk
100 g of chocolate chips (3.5 oz.)

Preheat the oven at 200ºC (400ºF).

Cut the butter into small chunks y mix with the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar using your fingers, you need to get small “cornflakes”.
Add the eggs and the milk and stir it up with a spatula.
Add the chocolate chips.

Roll the dough out on a surface with flour, 2-3 cm (0.8-1.2 in) thick and cut with a rounded cutter of the diameter you wish.

Place them in a baking tray and brush them with milk.

Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden.
