MERINGUE GHOSTS (gluten free)

It’s almost Halloween and I didn’t have time for more themed sweet treats!
I hope during this week I can do something else.
Meanwhile, you can try these funny meringue ghosts.

They’re super easy and you can eat them on their own or use them to decorate cakes or cupcakes.

Ingredients:

2 egg M whites
A few drops of lemon juice
50 g white sugar
50 g icing sugar

Edible black paint

You’ll also need: big round tips, piping bags and a small brush.

Preheat the oven at 75ºC (167ºF).

Beat the egg whites with the lemon juice and when they start to form peaks add the white sugar.
Keep beating until stiff.
Add carefully the icing sugar using a spatula, with encircling movements.

Finally, put it inside a piping bag and make the ghosts in different sizes.

Bake them for 1 hour and a half or two hours. They must be completely dry on the inside; you can break one to check.

When they’re cool paint the eyes and mouth with the brush.
