HONEY COOKIES

I’ve been doing so many things lately that I didn’t realize that the blog is already one year old!
I thought it was going to be a failure, but in the last few months I had much more visits, so thanks to everyone following me or helping in any way.

And now, I have a recipe of honey cookies really nice and perfect to decorate.

I made them as bears for mi cousin’s birthday, who is now two, but you can decorate them however you want.

In fact, in the next post I’ll show you how to decorate them as Death Star (Star Wars) and TARDIS (Doctor Who).

Ingredients:
300 g flour (10.6 oz.)
115 g butter (at room temperature) (4 oz.)
75 g brown sugar (2.6 oz.)
50 g white sugar (1.8 oz.)
1 tablespoon of honey
1 egg L
1 teaspoon of baking soda
A pinch of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Start sifting the flour with the salt and the soda and reserve.
Beat the butter and the sugar until it’s creamy. Next add the egg and the vanilla and mix.
Add half of the dry ingredients and mix.
Now add the honey.
Finally add the rest of dry ingredients.

Knead slightly and divide the dough into three parts. Cover them with cling film and put them in the fridge.

After this time, preheat the oven at 180ºC (356ºF).

Extend the dough, 0,5 cm (0,2 inches) of thickness, and cut.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake them for 10 minutes.

When they’re ready let them rest for 5 minutes and put them in a rack to cool down.

Now you can decorate them or eat them just like that.
