CREAM AND CHOCOLATE SNAILS

I love pastry cream and it suits almost everything.



And if the recipe is as easy as this one, even better.




Ingredients:
1 rectangular sheet of puff pastry
Chocolate chips

For the pastry cream:115 ml milk
½ tablespoon of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 egg yolk
½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

For the glaze:2 tablespoons of hot water
1 tablespoon of sugar

Mix, in different bowls, 90 ml of milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar and the vanilla, 25 ml of milk with the cornstarch and finally the yolk with the other tablespoon of sugar. Mix everything in a pot and cooking over medium heat, keep stirring it until it gets dense. Remove from the heat and let it cool.

Preheat oven at 200ºC (392K).

Cut the pastry puff into 6 or 7 strips.




Roll out the dough a bit with a rolling pin.



Put the cream and the chocolate chips.




Roll and seal the ends.


Form a spiral.



For the glaze, mix the water and the sugar and pour it over the rolls.

Bake for 10-15 minutes.

Take it out from the oven and let it cool down or gobble down like there’s no tomorrow!
