COCOA AND CINNAMON COOKIES + ICING SKELETONS

Finally my favorite time of the year has come: the time when it’s socially accepted to prepare Halloween stuff!

I made these cookies with cocoa and cinnamon, some of them with leaf shape and the rest of them decorated as skeletons, that I’ll explain you later.

Ingredients:
125 g flour (4.4 oz.)
25 g cocoa powder (0.9 oz.)
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
A pinch of salt
70 g butter at room temperature (2.5 oz.)
60 g brown sugar (2.1 oz.)

Start sifting the flour with the cocoa, the cinnamon and the salt and reserve.
Beat the butter and the sugar until it’s creamy.
Next add the egg and mix.
Add the dry ingredients and mix.

Knead slightly and divide the dough into two parts. Cover them with cling film and put them in the fridge.

After this time, preheat the oven at 175ºC (145ºF).

Extend the dough, 0,5 cm (0.2 inches) of thickness, and cut.

Bake the cookies for 10 minutes, take them out, and let them cool down on a rack.

If you want to prepare the skeletons you’ll need:
¼ of line icing
Piping bag
Fine round tip (I used Wilton no.2)

Make them in these two steps and allow the icing to dry between them.
You can use a tooth stick for the smallest details.

Put the cookies in a bag with a ribbon to make them this cute.
