CHOCOLATE TARTS WITH STRAWBERRY DISGUISED AS A CARROT

These are the tarts that I prepared for Father’s Day, which in Spain is on 19th of March.

They’ve got it all: they’re cute, delicious and easy.
But if you’re on diet better run away before it’s too late.

Ingredients (6 tarts of 12 cm/4.7’’ of diameter):
Base:185 g (6.5 oz.) of crushed Marie biscuits
100 g (3.5 oz.) of melted butter

Filling:300 g (10.6 oz.) of dark chocolate
6 tablespoons of heavy cream

Toppings:8 crushed oreo cookies
6 clean and dry strawberries
80 g (2.8 oz.) of white chocolate
A few drops of orange colorant for chocolate (fat-soluble)

First, prepare the base.
Blend the Marie biscuits with the butter, put it in the molds and press to give it shape.

Refrigerate for at least two hours.
Prepare the strawberries so they can get chilled.
Melt the white chocolate and mix with the colorant.
Dip the strawberries in the chocolate, place them on a baking paper and put them in the fridge for a few minutes.
Put the rest of the chocolate in a piping bag, with a round thin tip.
Draw a few lines on each strawberry and put them in the fridge again.

For the filling, put the cream and the dark chocolate in a pot on a low heat until it melts.
Distribute into the molds.

Finally, sprinkle with the oreo cookies and place the strawberry.
Put it in the fridge as long as your patients allows you, it should be at least for an hour.

Note: I didn’t unmold the tarts because they crumbled a bit, but you can make it so you don’t spoil the mold.

I hope you like the recipe!
