CHOCOLATE MUMMY COOKIES

Well, I think, unfortunately, this will be the last Halloween recipe for this year. I have exams now, so I have no life.
But these cookies are really easy to make, they’re so tasty and very cute.

Ingredients (20 cookies):
175 g flour (6.2 oz.)
25 g cocoa powder (0.9 oz.)
55 g butter at room temperature (1.9 oz.)
55 g white sugar (1.9 oz.)
1 teaspoon of honey
1 tablespoon of milk
1 egg M
½ teaspoon of baking soda
A pinch of salt

Decoration:

Lollipop sticks
90 g white chocolate (3.2 oz.)
4 tablespoons of cream
Eyes (I made it with fondant, but you can find them already made)
Edible glue (or 1 tablespoon of corn syrup + ½ caster sugar)

Start sifting the flour with the cocoa, the salt and the soda and reserve.
Beat the butter and the sugar until it’s creamy.
Next add the egg and the vanilla and mix.
Add half of the dry ingredients and mix.
Now add the honey.
Add the rest of dry ingredients.
Finally, add the milk.

Knead slightly and divide the dough into two parts. Cover them with cling film and put them in the fridge.

After this time, preheat the oven at 180ºC (356ºF).

Extend the dough, 0.5 cm (0.2 inches) of thickness, and cut in circular shape.
Carefully place the stick on the back of the cookie and give it shape with the fingers.

Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake them for 10 minutes.

When they’re ready let them rest for 5 minutes and put them in a rack to cool down.

While the dough is in the fridge, prepare the ganache.
Put the cream and the chocolate in a pot and heat at low heat until it melts.
Let it cool down.

When the cookies get cool, stick the eyes with a bit of edible glue.

Put the ganache in a piping bag and make a little diagonal cut.

Make strips with the ganache and let it cool.

So, I encourage you to prepare them, Halloween is so close!
